New! I am now offering confidential responses to your questions.

November 2009

As I was looking to decide what to write about the holidays this year, I started looking at old columns to give me some ideas. I saw this one from December 2001. It said everything that was important to me to say this year. Happy Holidays!

It is holiday time again, whether or not you are in the mood for it, the holidays are here.  With the terrorist acts, the war, the recession and tragedies happening in different parts of the world, you may not be in the mood to go shopping and give a mound of gifts this year.

So what you have instead is a wonderful opportunity to examine the holidays and decide what is important to celebrate this year.  For some people, the obvious answer is to celebrate the religious aspects of the holidays.  For some, that alone brings great comfort and peace.  I hope that all of you are finding some sense of being centered in whatever way you express your spirituality.

Another important aspect of the holiday season is having all of your loved ones close and telling everyone how much you love them.  Snuggling under a big blanket with someone you love, whether adult, child or animal, can be a delightful way to spend this season.

Find what matters to you and celebrate the holiday in a meaningful way.  Happy Holidays!
