How Are You?

So, how are you? This is a question that we ask and are asked a dozen times a day. But how often do we give an honest answer? How often do we expect one? When is the last time that you asked yourself this question?  Right now, stop. Take a breath. Ask yourself, in this moment, how am I?

As you listen for the answer, scan your body. Are you tight? Are you stressed? Breathe again. As you begin to get an answer, I am calm, I am angry, I am hungry, follow up with the next question: what do I need? Right now, in this moment, what do I need?

These are questions that we rarely take the time to ask ourselves. We may expect our partner to know the answer and to fulfill the need. But we need to know the answer. We need to be responsible for ourselves and our own well-being.

Now, that you have asked these questions and listened to the answers, now it is up to you to work towards being healthy and getting your needs met.

I ask again, how are you? Listen and take care of yourself!
